280the name implies, the main purpose of the unique table is to guarantee
281that each node is unique; that is, there is no other node labeled by
282the same variable and with the same children. This uniqueness property

286short).  Though the application that uses only the exported functions
287needs not be concerned with most details of the manager, it has to
